ABOUT ME

Emel Sensoy was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and raised in Istanbul, Turkiye. Her love for acting started young and took her to Tring Park School for the Performing Arts outside London, where she trained before moving to New York City and continuing her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute and Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She also trained at the Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles and received a Judge’s Recommendation in Stage Combat.

Since then, Emel has worked across film, television, theatre and vertical drama. Recent projects include playing Ava in the TV miniseries God of Pain and Noel in The Lessons of Love and Hate. She has also appeared in the thriller short ‘A New Prophet’ and played Diana, a mean camp counselor, in a coming-of-age comedy short. She especially loves characters that are complicated, bold, a little unpredictable and not always necessarily the nicest person in the room.

Outside of traditional acting, Emel has found another creative outlet in UGC and commercial work, creating content for brands including METHODIQ, THERABAND, and Huntington Pilates. Being an actor has naturally shaped the way she approaches brand work—she loves finding a way to make scripted content feel conversational, genuine and actually fun to watch.

Emel also works in voiceover and audiobooks, including narrating ‘The Winter Rose We Never Let Go’ for ACX. Having grown up between Turkiye, England, and the United States, she is bilingual in English and Turkish and has always had a love for accents, dialects and finding different voices.

When she isn’t acting, filming content, or recording voiceover, Emel is probably doing something active. She has a background in strength training, boxing, kickboxing, dance, running and stage combat, and is also a certified yoga instructor.
